We offer a range of training opportunities that include group cycle rides, coached running session on the track, off-road and road and much more.
The organised training sessions are as follows:
Monday night swim, an hour’s pool time at Braintree pool at Freeport. from 9.00 p.m. to 10.15 p.m where we have the entire pool dedicated to our coached session. Having all eight lanes available means that we can cater for all abilities and everyone gets a good workout. There’s a £3.00 per hour session fee for Born2Tri members and £6.00 for others which contributes to the venue hire. When considering we hire the whole venue this represents excellent value for money.
Friday morning swim at Braintree Pool, Freeport. Its a 6.00 a.m. one hour session so you can get off to work afterwards. We are getting a good group there, but its a high quality conditioning workout to set you up for the day. It’s just ‘pay as you go’, we don’t hire lanes so just pay on the door.
The Saturday morning bike ride starting at 9am Tesco’s Gt Notley. The bike rides will start as usual from Tesco (Meet at Trolley Store opposite the filling station) Gt. Notley. Everyone should gather at Tesco’s car park, where the different pace/distance groups will be sorted out if required. We have a main group which does a 2 – 3 hour steady endurance ride and depending on the weather and attendance: a fast group for those that want that bit of extra speed and a beginners and improvers group for those who want to get started or work up to riding in the main group.
In the atumn and winter we have a Sunday Run – A one hour coached run session on the tracks and paths of the Great Notley Country park and the Flitch Way. A variety of enjoyable endurance based sessions starting 9.00 a.m. at the Discovery Centre. The sessions are structured to be suitable for all abilities, everyone will benefit. Note – You may prefer to park at Tesco’s and run through the park to avoid the car park fee.
In the spring and summer we have open water swimming at Gosfield Lake Resort as the times and sessions vary please see here for the latest up to date details.

In addition to the above sessions one of our British Triathlon qualified coach, Teresa Harman, also runs these sessions for all abilities. These really compliment and build on the Born2Tri training sessions.
Monday – Pilates (6 – 7.00 p.m.) and Spinning (7-7.45 p.m.) classes at Complete Health and Fitness, East Street, Braintree.
Both these classes are good for core training and are ideal in building muscle strength and endurance and yet deal with postural stability and flexibility at the same time. These are not club sessions, just pay as you go at the gym, but you will get a specific workout from one of the club’s BTF coaches.
